Red Poppys

This is my starting block, I'm still trying to visualize this...

Getting some shape to the vase...

Starting to see it in my head and get a feel for this...

Adding some shades to the greens and white flowers

Blocking in the red poppys....

Some blending, shading and detailing here...

Now I can work to deepen the background colors...plus I repainted some of the poppys to enlarge them

At this point I was not done but I needed feedback, so I bordered it and sent it to my friends . Thank you to all who replied. You help me see things differently.

New vase color! The green and gold help keep the painting in earth tone shades. (great feedback suggestion)

Repaint color cast on wall, touch-up the light and dark shades, define edges and anchor the objects to the table....done with painting..sign my name...

Well almost done...I choose to digitally mat my paintings because a mat color will make or break the colors in a painting. Trying to find the exact color mat in stores is impossible. You could add a true mat to this of course. This painting was done in Painter IX but then I added 4 borders in different sizes, colors and textures to create a mat using PSPX. ...now its done! :)
